Nā Wahine Toa Foundation is a Native Hawaiian-led nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Indigenous women, girls, and native youth through education, self defense, wellness programming, cultural connection, and community support.
Founded by former Bellator World Champion Ilima Lei Macfarlane, the organization was created to help build confidence, resilience, and opportunity for Indigenous communities while preserving cultural identity and strengthening future generations.
The foundation's work centers around four guiding pillars: self defense, self love, self preservation, and the protection of sacred spaces. Through workshops, educational initiatives, scholarships, cultural gatherings, and community outreach, Nā Wahine Toa creates opportunities for participants to develop practical skills, personal confidence, and meaningful connections.
The organization has supported communities across Hawaii and beyond through self defense clinics, Indigenous women's retreats, scholarship programs, youth empowerment initiatives, and disaster relief efforts. Nā Wahine Toa also advocates for awareness surrounding Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives while supporting vulnerable communities through education and outreach.
At HI FIT EXPO 2026, attendees can learn more about the foundation's mission, community programs, and opportunities to support Indigenous women, girls, and native youth through education, wellness, leadership, and cultural empowerment.
